EDUCATION ON PREVENTION AND CONTROL OF GOUT ARTHRITIS IN BUNTEMBOK HALL BANGKET PARAK VILLAGE

Gout arthritis is an inflammatory joint disease caused by the long-term accumulation of uric acid crystals in the body. This condition occurs due to high levels of uric acid in the blood, which can cause sudden pain, swelling, redness, and warmth in the affected joints. If not properly managed, it can lead to kidney stones and permanent joint damage that can lead to limited mobility. The purpose of this educational program is to provide knowledge and methods for preventing and managing gout arthritis to the community. This activity was conducted with 30 residents in Buntembok Village, Bangket Parak. The methods used in this activity were leaflet, lectures, questions and answers, and discussions. The pretest results showed that 26.7% of participants were in the good category, 33.3% in the adequate category, and 40% in the poor category after receiving education. The posttest results showed a significant increase, with 46.7% of participants in the good category, 43.3% in the adequate category, and 10% in the poor category. Therefore, it can be concluded that the community service activity in the form of education on the prevention and control of gout arthritis in Buntembok Hamlet, Bangket Parak Village, has increased the level of knowledge. It is hoped that this activity will enable the community to control and prevent gout arthritis, thereby increasing public awareness of the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle
